Affording a space to live in the city is a big deal. The price of property is just outrageous. Thus, we often have to settle to the smaller spaces than we originally intended. Instead of purchasing a house with a backyard and white picket fence, we may only be able to afford a studio apartment. However, many people succeeded in creating the most for the space. Nevertheless, it is just challenging to be able to set up a studio apartment.

Small studio apartment may mean that the space is just enough for basic furniture. There may not even enough space for any interior walls. This means that functionality is at the top of the list. But of course a little decoration would just be perfect to make the room feels more comfortable. To set up a studio apartment, you need to divide the space into mini rooms. These rooms would have to be divided without using any interior walls.

To set up a studio apartment, you need to use furniture that can be used as barrier such as book shelves. It is functional in two ways, separating two rooms and holding the books. Then you can create a living room and bedroom in the two rooms. Another idea is to use draperies to set the two rooms apart. Draperies are not taking much space but can create the sense of a barrier to provide you with the necessary privacy of the bedroom.

When you arrange the furniture in the rooms, you need to ensure that you have the space for pathways. This is an essential step of how to set up a studio apartment. You always need to think of traffic or you would be stumbling over furniture whenever you have to move about. Not to mention when you have a friend coming over. Do you want them to have to climb over stuff when they need to go to the bathroom?

A good tip of how to set up a studio apartment is to think vertically. You do not have too much space horizontally, so vertical is a good solution. Vertical can mean that you may have to create another space on top of each other or using a cupboard and racks that touch the ceiling. Then, to add to the comfort, you need to make sure you have a little sunshine in the room.  If the room is brighter, it will look much bigger.
